Quokka Quilts is having a blogger's choice competition.  I have spent a couple hours browsing through Fat Quarter Shop to create my bundle. Here it is!  Crossing my fingers!

Exciting News!!!

I had someone ask me for a business card today!!! Soooo very exciting!! Not only am I getting people interested in my work at school, but random people in public ask me!  Thrilled as can be.

All the excitement aside, I have to buckle down this week.  I have joined the wonderful world of pinterest!  But, unfortunately its giving me tons of ideas with my limited time.  :-/  I do have a list of stuff i HAVE to finish this week.

Top of the list starts off from last weeks list...
1. Finish the window valances - having trouble on the second one cause it's not wanting to be straight.  I even ripped out the whole hem cause it wasn't as even as I wanted it to be.  I realized that the side hems the factory put on aren't even with the stripes on the fabric.  which is leading to all my measurements to be off.  :-/  I think I have a solution though.

2. I'm hitting up Hancock Fabrics Columbus Day sale tomorrow!!! WOOT WOOT! Can't wait to load up my cart with fun stuff!  Oh and I"m going to Michaels and hobby lobby.

3. Work on my 36 Patch quilt from CrazyMomQuilts  I got a third of the way done and it's in my UFO box.  It's going to be a Christmas present so I need to get cracking.

4. If I get all that done, I"ll be ecstatic, so I'm not going to add anything else!

This week on CNN...

well, maybe not CNN, but my home network. :-)  I have a bunch of things to finish and start, which include but are not limited to.

***1.) Turn a shower curtain into two valances.  - my goal is to finish this tomorrow night.  Crossing my fingers.

2.) Bind a UFO that i don't like anymore so it's out of my hair.

3.) Wash some fabric

4.) Find backing for a quilt top that I love but can't seem to find the right match.

5.) then, hopefully I can rest and relax a little :-)

Christmas Tree skirt

My new job with the school district has led to some wonderful quilting opportunities. The most recent being a Christmas Tree skirt for the PTO auction that's coming up next month.  I got the instructions from here.  It was easy to follow and a wonderful design idea.  Here is my finished product.  I'm SOOO EXCITED!

Kaleidoscope Quilt-a-long

I finished my blocks yesterday!! Woot woot!  I'm so thrilled with how they turned out.  They're all scrappy so none of them look alike. It's perfect scrap busting at its source. I do wish I had used the same color of neutral fabric, but I still enjoy how it turned out.  I have one block that I need to fix, but I think this might be close to the layout for stitching them together.  I got the instructions from Don't Call Me Betsy

Oh, and btw - Today is my anniversary!!!!!!!

Kalaidescope Quilt along

I found this Kalaidescope quilt along at don't call me betsy.   It sounds like fun and I'm making mine totally scrappy.  Pulled out my scrap jar and cut up my fabrics that way.  Look for pics soon.

Pillow sham

On the recommendation of my aunt, I found a pattern for a pillow sham at Dawn's Quilting Corner   I think it turned out pretty well, but let me know what you think!
